The first Annual CU Black and African Arts Festival is held in Urbana, IL.
February 10 – The Illinois National Association for the Advancement of Colored People’s (NAACP) State Conference and the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police created the Ten Shared Principles for Building Trust to be adopted by Illinois Police Departments to signify their commitment to the public they serve. It was on this date that Champaign Police Chief Anthony Cobb signed the agreement for the Champaign Police Department.
